Joshua trees take forever to grow. There are people who dig them up to sell to people to decorate their yards. Many of those trees are hundreds of years old and must be protected.

Great move and more important than ever now that the region is so overpopulated.

I live in the CA desert. We don't see coyotes anymore, Jack rabbits, or desert tortoises and tarantulas anymore. 30 yrs ago it was an everyday occurrence. The dirt bikers here, who come in from LA have ruined the desert and torn it apart, killing our wildlife.

Whereabouts in the CA desert are you, Fire Chief Wife? We also live in the CA high desert, & we see jackrabbits frequently - almost on a daily basis. I don’t often see coyotes, but we def hear their eery & beautiful calls at night. Tortoises are much rarer (found within JTNP).
