In the 100 years before President Trump took office, only five judges had ever been confirmed with only one blue slip and the last one was in 1989. Democrats have NEVER confirmed a judicial nominee over the objection of a Republican senator who refused to return a blue slip.
In just over TWO years, Republicans have held hearings for TEN circuit court nominees and confirmed FOUR over the objection of their Democratic home-state senators. That’s double the number of circuit judges confirmed without both blue slips in the previous CENTURY.
Republicans demanded President Obama respect their blue slips—while using them to block his nominees—keeping vacancies open for years. Standards should not be changed simply because a different party holds the White House.
WHY are you still surprised? McConnell has demonstrated over and over he cares nothing for norms, tradition, and comity. He cares about power and getting what he wants—and what he wants is an incompetent unqualified judiciary that will do the bidding of the rightwing

And what is the answer, the solution, to the two political parties in American playing by two very different sets of rules. I don't want Dems to join Reps in the gutter, but how do we compete?
The answer is moving to an Approval Voting system that opens up ballot access for a single general election and eliminates primaries. Voters then register their support or disapproval of all candidates independently. The political duopoly of the 2Party system is the problem.
Would love to see a "judicial fruit from the poisoned tree" law passed -such that any nomination from a corrupt Presidency (that hopefully ends in multiple indictments), must be re-nominated and re-confirmed.

Y’all need to do a deep dive on the backgrounds of these judges. Every corrupt judge should be impeached and removed. These right wing nut jobs are trying to take over our country...& please start with Pam Bondi, who conveniently dropped charges against DJT’s “University”
