Why is it that wealthy business owners and CEOs rarely go to jail for their crimes? Fines mean nothing to them. It's the cost of doing business. Jail is the only deterrent. Steal a man's wallet and go to jail, steal his life savings and get a small fine.

Can we also somehow build in safeguards for legit patients? My doctors were terrified to order more than a 7-8 day supply of painkillers for me after MAJOR surgery this past year. “You need 42 pills but I’m not going to order you more than 30.” Made recovery WAY more difficult.

We don't deny misuse/death by using opioids for "highs", etc. Yet the strict monitoring & required "pledges" the patients with real debilitating chronic pain & legitimate need for pain relief are being treated unfairly. Why has it become so hard for them to get their medication??

Why didn’t the DEA go investigate suspected dr that were writing the rx? I know of a clinic that they let operate for 12 years before shutting it down
