The family separation crisis continues. DHS has separated 245 children since a court ordered an end to the policy. CBP officers have no expertise in child welfare and should not be deciding whether these children are in danger. The Keep Families Together Act requires either a state court to decide or CBP to consult with child welfare experts before a child is removed from accompanying adults.
We can’t allow a process with no scrutiny or oversight to be used as an excuse to continue separating children from their families.
