BREAKING: the Senate just passed a funding bill to avoid another shutdown. This omnibus bill keeps the entire federal government open and makes key investments in California, including full funding for all of our major mass-transit projects.

The bill also provides funding for proven border security measures without wasting resources on a massive border wall. With long-term funding now in place, we can hopefully begin to restore public confidence that the government will always be open and ready to serve.

While I’m proud of what’s in the omnibus, Congress still has work to finish several items not included in the final bill. Chief among those is disaster funding for California wildfire victims and an extension of the Violence Against Women Act.pic.twitter.com/eBr5fslz5O

Explain why my tax dollars from UT need to be used to fund CA infrastructure?? Why not NJ or somewhere else, even UT itself where I work to EARN the money I pay taxes on??

Because, when send way more tax dollars to the federal government. We here in California, whose economy alone is 13% of the entire country’s GDP, that’s the question Californians should actually be asking.

Why can’t California pay for their own high speed railing? That’s a state issue not a federal issue. Maybe cut loose all those illegals in California.

You also passed a bill making lynching a federal crime....I completely understand given your propensity for China. Everyone has the right to protect themselves. We used to lynch traitors didn't we?
