Senator Dianne Feinstein Retweeted NBC News

A huge cavity has formed under the Thwaites Glacier in Antarctica. If it collapses, sea levels could rise by another two feet in a matter of decades! This is just one glacier. We must cut carbon emissions quickly by investing in cleaner energy sources.https://twitter.com/NBCNews/status/1092842060858695687 …

Scientists say if Thwaites collapses, it could trigger a catastrophic rise in global sea levels, flooding coastal cities around the world. https://nbcnews.to/2DcprrD  - @NBCNewsMACH

Lord lady go back to school. If a cavity has formed and collapses it will not RAISE sea levels, at best/worse it will LOWER them as the cavity fills with sea water. In all probability it will have no impact

Try to understand. There is a cavity under the ice shelf and the water. If it does collaspe it will displace the water and raise the level. Think of having a glass of water and putting ice in it, the water level will rise as more ice is put in.

Now how the heck are you ever going to get those other countries to do that. Ours was cut last year. That even without the costly Paris climate deal!

The question for establishment lawmakers: is incremental policy still good enough? Or are we going to push for the extraordinary scale of action this crisis demands? Because the human race has never faced a situation like this.

I'm 100% for cleaner energy but the Thwaites Glacier is melting due to the result of volcanic activity beneath the glacier.
