Now that the shutdown is over, federal employees will get back pay but unfortunately it’s not guaranteed for federal contractors, many of whom live paycheck to paycheck. That’s not right. We’re fighting to ensure they get their paychecks too. http://www.feinstein.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?a=files.serve&File_id=C3136D30-8578-4649-AF2E-DEA7B48DA28D …

The dead ICE agents won’t be getting a paycheck. Nor will those murdered by the estimated 100,000 gang members in Texas alone.

What about the government paying interest to furloughed workers on shutdown backpay? Not right that they would still pay normal taxes on that backpay on top of all that.

Is it just me or is all this talk about a “DEAL” disturbing at every level. Really? Is a government shut down with millions effected only about a DEAL. Why isn’t it about congress doing their Job democracy by the people for the people to keep America Great

Thank you Senator. Our janitorial & food workers barely live above the poverty level as it is, and are some of the kindest, most decent people I’ve known.
