I am a survivor of child abuse. I tried to tell teachers, counselors, friends' parents. No one listened or cared. I have lasting physical and emotional trauma. I will never get the justice I deserve but I hope this will help others.
The Victims of Child Abuse Reauthorization Act passed the Senate this week with my provision to extend legal protections to those who assist with reports and investigations of child abuse, like pediatricians. This bill is a no-brainer and I hope the House will pass it quickly.

My daughter is a survivor of SBS. Please protect the people who are mandated reporters. There can be such negativity surrounding them. If people had stepped forward for my daughter, maybe she would not be completely reliant on me for most of care

Good! Jehovahs Witnesses are notorious for hiding child abusers and molesters, and then destroying evidence of conversations held by their elders. Professionals outside their church are the only haven and hope for these kids.
