Due to an outdated loophole, the FTC is unable to go after illegal robocallers despite fraudulent activity that scams Americans out of $9.5 billion a year. Our bill, the REAL PEACE Act, closes this loophole so the FTC can enforce existing laws & move against illegal robocallers.

If you’re tired of getting relentless robocalls from spammers and fraudsters, call your senators and ask them to support the REAL PEACE Act. Let’s finally put illegal robocallers out of business.

Also pernicious and should be illegal: posting a phone number in the Caller ID that is NOT the actual number. I get multiple calls EVERY DAY from my area code and prefix that are actually spam calls, not local calls. THIS IS FRAUD, costs me time, interrupts my work.

It's called "neighborhood spoofing." I get upwards of 5 calls per day from companies trying to sell me +55 years and older products. I also get people calling screaming at me to stop calling them...which means my number has also been compromised. It's epidemic!

The latest ploy being used is caller ID spoofing. Carriers already possess the tech to be able to prohibit callers from sending out caller ID other than a number they own. Start levying stiff fines against the carriers for allowing this and it will stop real quickly.

Between people calling me wanting to sell me health insurance and those weird calls that begin with some dude in a call center asking me how my lower back pain is, I am fielding roughly half of those 1300 calls per second.

I literally just got one telling me that the US Treasury is going to arrest me if I don’t call back. I worry about the elderly and disabled that can’t discern these calls-and robocalls in general are constant- is there any way to eliminate?

5 or 6 per day in spite of being listed on the do not call registry.
