Unaccompanied children should be treated humanely and kept safe. The Trump administration isn’t meeting these basic standards. It’s troubling that the administration won’t fingerprint staff for background checks, but fingerprints relatives who pick up children to scare them away.

Americans have lost all trust and confidence in republicans to do anything that looks even remotely humane. To them, governing = $$$ in their pockets (legitimately earned or not).

That is a vain hope: he could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue & his supporters wouldn’t care. GOP has an even larger majority in the Senate than before midterms and by their votes, none of them are people of conscience. If laws are broken, but Congress shrugs, there is no recourse.
