I was there this morning with my husband. It was a beautiful ceremony. Cathedral packed! So good to hear people of faith preaching love instead of hate from the pulpit.
20 years after a vicious hate crime took his life, Matthew Shepard continues to inspire LGBT youth to live their authentic lives. I can think of no more fitting tribute to his life than his burial at the National Cathedral.

I worked with his uncle when this happened. Please let us be more accepting and kind. Matthew is one example of what hate can do. 20 years ago? Why can't we learn? Why? The hate rhetoric must be squelched now! Why are tax payers paying for our leaders to do this?
