Last week, an assistant manager of the local Chick-fil-a in my town bragged about not giving employees their breaks and about working them mercilessly hard. It's horrific that no one does anything. It happens everywhere here, a common rights violation in #Texas.

I thought this was labor policy? Why would meal and break policies be different for truckers? I guarantee if one of my family members were maimed or killed because of lax trucker policies, I woukd go after that trucking company for everything they have.
It’s part of the gig economy, using (literally & figuratively) staff only when employer needs them. Truckers are independent contractors, so not protected as employees. Libertarian every-man-for-himself agenda, “all for me, none for thee.” Pitchforks comin.’
