President Trump’s politically motivated attacks on California are completely inappropriate when lives are at risk and show how little he understands about wildfire. Cal Fire has repeatedly said there is no shortage of water to fight these fires.
Years of historic drought have left more than 129 million dead trees in our state. Those conditions are fueling the catastrophic blazes we’re seeing. The Trump administration may choose to ignore the threats of climate change but we’re feeling the effects every day.
We’ll work to protect lives in the threatened communities, help families recover and take the necessary steps to prevent future wildfires. I’d encourage President Trump to join us in that effort, or at the very least end his repeated attacks and learn the facts on the ground.
He knows there's enough water to fight the wildfires. Those fires are just an excuse for him to demolish protections for wildlife and threatened/endangered species. In other words, to adopt bad environmental policies.
Opening the path to development, mining & drilling, and the angry timber industry who want to tear out forests without applying sound practices to do it. I can hear every voice working on him in the back of his mind...
