I remember that smell and taste in the air and retried to avoid the LA Basin for years. The smog has been reduced but there is still work to be done.

CA had to limit car emissions. In the 70s & 80s, when smog alerts were being issued all the time, schools in the LA basin couldn’t let students outside for games or lunch. Ppl living in subzero temperatures couldn’t identify with it, but RR lived in it too.
