I wrote a letter to the chairman just a few days after the Kavanaugh nomination was made to start the process for requesting documents. I’ve made several offers to accommodate his concerns, including providing search terms to expedite document retrieval.
Unfortunately the chairman made his own unilateral request without Democrats that left out three years of Kavanaugh’s career – three years that Kavanaugh himself said were some of the most formative for his time as a judge. That’s not stalling, that’s doing our job.
Unacceptable. No records, no vote. If GOP can successfully demand this from Kagan as minority party, Dems must demand the same. Period. #ReleaseTheRecords #NoRecordsNoVote
