How can a Supreme Court Justice make a commitment prior to having heard both sides of the argument. Does that not show prejudice?

Nobody is insisting that a Supreme Court nominee pledge to overturn anything. That being said, overturning Roe v Wade would just throw the issue back to the states. I'm sure it would continue to be perfectly legal to kill preborn children in CA.
