The president is under investigation. For working with a hostile foreign nation. He cannot select a lifetime judge until he’s cleared.

You're correct, but sincerely, what can you do about it? Mitch had the votes to steamroll you two years ago, last year and he does now too. He blocked president Obamas nominee, rammed through trumps, and he will again. There anything you can do?

I agree. This was fun to put Mitch on the spot even if he doesn't have normal, human shame. But the question now...what is Plan B?

A much more solid argument is that the president is a subject in a criminal investigation. He should not be allowed to nominate a justice who might be in a position to make a ruling on the case.

As a reminder of how Trump is part of this investigation, his campaign is mentioned specifically in the original order issued by the Department of Justice. Receipt attached. https://www.justice.gov/opa/press-release/file/967231/download …

No nominations at all while Trump-Pence under criminal investigation and could be subpoenaed.

Trump wants to talk about conflicts? So should
@JudiciaryDems and@SenateDems. How on earth does a president* with criminal investigations ongoing get to appoint a justice who could well rule on constitutional questions regarding its outcome? -
And what’s this about?
