My husband's parents were interned during WW11. They never spoke of the pain in losing everything they knew. Can you imagine the horror of them being ripped from their parents on top of that? I am embarrassed and shamed by this policy.

The thing I don't understand is they have an American Consulate in the South American. These families can apply for Asylum in their countries, but it's not Asylum there seeking they want a free ride that's why they do not bring documents. Or their trafficking children.

The psychological trauma to the families is horrific & inhumane. The children will have long lasting psychological affects that may interfere w/basic daily living skills. To know that we, Americans, are causing that trauma to children is counterintuitive to who who we are.
