    Given his announcement yesterday about rapid troop withdrawals from the Middle East, the new Acting needs to immediately come before the Senate Armed Services Committee to fully brief us and provide details to the Committee.

    Acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller announced plans to reduce U.S. troop levels in Iraq and Afghanistan. Miller said the plan will cut the number of troops in Afghanistan from more than 4,500 to 2,500, and in Iraq from about 3,000 to 2,500.
