Today, I will vote for both options to fund the remaining parts of the government and fund border security. I’ve consistently been against government shutdowns because I don’t think they are the right way to govern.

I will continue to work with a bipartisan group of Senators to find a compromise that opens the government and funds border security.

You controlled the government for two damn years and didn't see fit to fund the wall because even you realized it was idiocy and you want to put this on Dems? That's rich!

You are not disappointed in Senate Republicans for refusing to support a bill that they voted for in December?

It's not reasonable to hold workers hostage.

Wall has been rejected by a majority of Americans. Secure border security by a smarter and more effective plan.

It's not a reasonable compromise. It's an idiotic wall that is overwhelmingly unpopular plus a bunch of undisclosed racist nonsense in the small print. It's also hostage taking after years of inaction despite control of the entire government. This behavior cannot be rewarded.
