This feels disingenuous and opportunistic. Don’t try to capitalize on the late senator’s death when you didn’t honor him in life, but instead have tried to ingratiate yourself to a president with the audacity to claim McCain wasn’t a hero.

Then why do you stand behind a man who has belittled McCain’s patriotism and achievement on such a large public platform. This is opportunistic and disengenuous. And McCain deserves better.

Exactly.

John McCain willingly faced torture to help his fellow captives and condemned torture when your party embraced it. You can't even face your unarmed Colorado constituents at a town hall. It would only take *one* repub Senator with just moderate courage to change everything.

I didn't always agree with Senator McCain, but I never doubted his integrity nor loyalty to our country. If you want to honor him, act with HIS level of integrity and faithfulness to this country and its Constitution. Until then, sit down, Senator Gardner.

Someone really committed to McCain's legacy would demand that Trump apologize.
