The internet is infested with stomach-churning images of children who have been brutally assaulted & exploited, & who are haunted by a lifetime of pain after these photographs & videos are circulated online. 2/

Tech companies have long had ready access to low-cost, or even free tools to combat the scourge of child sexual abuse material, but have failed to act. 3/

Millions of these horrifying images go unidentified & unreported by the tech platforms that host them because there are so few consequences when these companies look the other way. That ends with the #EarnItAct. 4

All your nice words don't fix the fact that this bill is a mess and should not pass as it is written. Not surprised; you're not very good at this, senator.

BRAVO, SENATOR! I would love to meet with you or staff on this issue. We here advocate for victims of childhood sexual abuse. We are currently the largest organized group of past childhood sexual assault victims in the world and are here to serve!

Tech companies already are required to report CSAM to federal agencies, not to mention we already have laws in place regarding it being illegal to host, share, proliferate CSAM.

No, the EARN-IT Act has been criticized by numoerus civil liberty, sexual exploitation prevention, and digital rights groups because it would shut down legitmate websites and adults posting legal content, and would actually make sex victims MORE at risk:
