He’s been visiting and speaking about it all along. Keep track of his twitter and Facebook. He can’t control the republicans on the appropriations committee and Rubio is useless.

It would
#BeBest to help those children in Puerto Rico. -
I say help the suffering kids right here in Fl and USA 1st
-
Reminder: Puerto Rico IS the USA & the ppl are American citizens.
-
yeap sure are but they don't pay taxes to the USA gov, they pay taxes to the PR gov which is why they're not a state, the people who live in USA actually pay taxes to the USA gov
-
Turns out you're partly right, but PR contributes in other ways. The Federal Income Taxes Puerto Ricans Pay - Puerto Rico Reporthttps://www.puertoricoreport.com/the-federal-income-taxes-puerto-ricans-pay/#.WvJa-xsqMhQ.twitter …
-
I said, they don't pay income to the federal gov in PR, was only talking about PR, the simplest thing for PR to do is become their own country, but why should they? they get all the benefits of being USA but don't pay for them, they should have to get in line behind USA
-
Clearly you didn't read/understand the article. They do pay taxes to the US. Only non-federal incomes aren't taxed by IRS. Also, they pay FICA etc same as you do. Don't dehumanize Puerto Ricans (or any other ppl).Statehood would make more sense, but that's up to them, then us.
-
They don't pay USA income for what the earn outside of USA, they SS and Medicare and collect on both, perfect example, if you pay in than you can get money back, the USA pays all of it's bills on income tax they collect, PR pays income tax to PR not to USA, help those in USA 1st

If we really cared about the Puerto Rican people we would either offer them full statehood or grant them the status of an independent nation.
-
They don’t vote for statehood.
-
They didn't really vote to be a neglected colony either.

Hardly a third world nation, but an island whose main business is tourism. Without repair and rebuilding tourists won’t come. Without tourists there is no money. Plus their debt load from years of wealthy Americans using shell companies for tax breaks, etc doesn’t help.
-
The legal fence that is used to exploit Puerto Rico makes a mockery of American democracy.
