Agree with Marjory Stoneman Douglas student @Emma4Change, arming teachers is a really bad idea.https://twitter.com/60Minutes/status/974624232947748869 …

Stoneman Douglas student tells 60 Minutes why arming teachers is "stupid." Emma Gonzalez, a survivor of last month's school shooting in Florida, is fighting for gun safety. But there's one proposal she doesn't want to see implemented. http://cbsn.ws/2FXjmml  pic.twitter.com/FF5MeUKyRh

You know what a really good idea is? Instilling in them the value of life, teaching them to not be bullies, and to stand up for those who can't stand up for themselves. #walkupnotout

Gun control does not teach kids to be more friendly or caring. Nor does it teach them ways to deal with bullies or to not be bullies.

I think that’s a job for parents, families and others who act as mentors to do. The Columbine kids weren’t bullied. Omar Mateen wasn’t bullied. This isn’t a bullying issue - it’s an access to guns issue.

Guns were easier to use though, weren't they. There are reasons bombs don't account for many deaths. Nobody is saying we shouldn't do better dealing with kids problems. But giving those troubled kids an AR15 hurts both the shooter and the victims in the end.

Good. Armed conceal carry teachers will NOT protect her, just all the other students. Your opinion matters NOT. When do we get to disarm your security detail? Good enough for you, but not for our children? #LiberalHypocrosy

I’m weeping with her mother. She is completely correct. We adults shouldn’t be behind @Emma4Change we should be standing in front of all our children, protecting them and leading the way. In the wake of our abject failure, they are forced to do it instead.

Why, because teachers can't become expert combat shooters, with professional training programs required and biometric gun safes, to protect their students? Oh, the cops are going to get there and stop the threat before some loon harms the second child? What a joke.
