From the rising seas that flood our cities, to bleached coral and more frequent and ferocious hurricanes, we must take action to combat climate change now. The longer we put it off, the harder it will be to protect ourselves.pic.twitter.com/FCMAF6mcUN

Climate change is real, and we must take action to protect ourselves. Denial of this scientific reality is simply not an option, especially in Florida.

While some want to deny the reality of climate change, or that it is some far off problem for future generations to address, doctors in Florida are sounding the alarm to the public health risk it is posing today, right now.http://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/environment/article199310404.html …

A new report is also sounding the alarm that sea turtles are already feeling the effects of climate change. Almost all sea turtles being born now are female.https://www.tcpalm.com/story/news/local/indian-river-lagoon/health/2018/03/12/climate-change-florida-sea-turtles-all-female-population-trend/396126002/ …

Climate change also threatens our national security. The Dept. of National Intelligence's new Worldwide Threat Assessment states that climate change and threats to our environment are "likely to fuel economic and social discontent -and possibly upheaval." https://www.intelligence.senate.gov/sites/default/files/documents/os-dcoats-021318.PDF …

.@NASA recently released climate data showing that 2017 was the second-hottest year on record after 2016, and now 17 of the 18 warmest years since record keeping began have occurred since 2001. https://nyti.ms/2Dgq1Dv pic.twitter.com/EKwHNw8LdP

We must accept the reality that the climate is changing. Not only must we recognize this reality, we must take action. #TimeToWakeUp

I've been saving money so I can purchase hurricane shutters for my home. I was just told I'd better hurry up and purchase. They anticipate the cost of the shutters to double due to trump tariffs. Help! #TheResistance #FlipItBlue #tariffs

We have old ones (60s era) but they did a good job during Irma. Definitely an important investment.

The price quote is up to $8000 now. It makes more sense to let all the windows break in a hurricane, it costs less to replace them all.

I take the dogs and we go to a local Cat 5 rated hotel. There's too much glass in my house, I don't feel safe, I just keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best..Yup, that's the plan...

I pray daily for a rational approach to climate change to be, at the very least, discussed. It’s heartbreaking to see what’s happening, to watch as more and more evidence piles up providing indisputable proof that if nothing is done, our planet, and all of us, will be doomed.

Thank you, Senator! Mitigation and prevention need to be top priorities. The cost in lost wages, property destruction, and human health will too much to bear if we don’t act aggressively.

The climate has been changing since the creation of the earth. There is scant evidence that man contributes to it. But I sincerely hope we have senate change in Florida in 2018. Good riddance.

Ken, for your kid’s sake consider the rate of change. Climate has always changed is a silly argument if you have no comprehension of the current rate of change. The rate effects adaptation of food sources. By disbelieving, you hurt future generations. Not smart.

Sure, stick with the non-scientists. Why are people so afraid of science? Why is skepticism confused with intellect? As a scientist myself, we find this rise in bravado and fear of intellect puzzling. The science behind brainwashing seems to be maximized.

There is brainwashing for sure. You should learn to think. And I'll measure your intellect and credibility by the contents of your tweet.

Problem with your strategy is intelligent people adapt to their audience. Tweeting to a Trumpet requires a lot of adaptation.
