The answer to protecting our kids and communities is not more guns in our schools or arming teachers. That's a terrible idea. We should be focused on expanding background checks and getting these military-style assault rifles off the streets.

How about even a 5 year moratorium on the war guns! Give the CDC permission to study & make data based recommendations.

And .. to all the law abiding citizens that own these war weapons. So far, I’m not seeing that your ownership has prevented any of these mass murders.

Oh. Well they're demanding teachers be armed. Demanding things like metal detectors, reinforced doors, entry/exit protocols. Sounds like a prison to me.

Intercity schools already have these things. We just worried about how the suburb kids will feel.

You Mr. Nelson are simply wrong. You are up in arms over a shooting that had every tool in place and paid for and each government bureaucracy failed. They needed nothing more and should have stoped the shooting. It was not the gun or the age of the shooter. You are wrong.

Arming teachers more than likely is not going to deter a mass shooter, for in the end the majority have committed suicide or death by police. Now it may be death by teacher. Might just increase school shootings.
