Suggest that every other state/federal buildings get rid of all their current security and opt to arm some staff members. If it’s good enough for our children, it’s good enough for everyone else.

That is right. It's time to ban all military grade weapons. No reason why any civilian should own such a weapon. We need you to be strong for Florida Bill Nelson.

Mr Nelson who are you to tell someone how to defend themselves. I'm sure an armed teacher would intially be a volunteer in Florida. They have a right to protect themselves and my kids. Let them carry.

But if that teacher hates your arrogant brat and had a bad day, freaks out and shoots them dead who is responsible? If their gun discharges by accident and your brat loses his arm who is responsible?

Idea: ban assault weapons, but license gun ranges to have assault weapons for rent while at the range. People can go, enjoy and leave without actually owning the assault weapon.

FL has a teacher shortage and districts have difficulty recruiting teachers. Less people get degrees in education due to poor compensation. These problems will multiply if we have to persuade people to teach in the same schools as armed faculty. #TeachersSayNo #GunControlNow

So you don't want to give the teachers a chance to be able to protect themselves, if they volunteer to, in an extreme situation, you want them to be a victim without a chance, boy they're going to be running to become a teacher, teach, babysit, and protect our kids with nothing

They who? You mean me? And my wife? We are both teachers. If people want to be armed in the interest of protecting others, good for them, I'm sure the local police department has applications online. If you're up for it yourself, good luck in the academy.

I know several teacher who are already permitted to carry a weapon, if you don't want to that's ok, several Sheriff's have already offered to make any teacher that will take the training for free to become a special deputy for them which allows them to carry under the law

Many people are missing that we do not want to work with armed faculty. I question any teacher's commitment to education who thinks a concealed weapon is part of an environment conducive to learning. Again, if you want deputies, join the police force.
