    Senator Bill Nelson Retweeted NPR

FEMA cutting food & water aid to Puerto Rico, while more than 1/3 of the island is still without power, is a travesty. Heading to Senate floor shortly to call on the administration to reverse this disastrous decision & continue providing the people of PR with the help they need.https://twitter.com/NPR/status/958155302532083712 …

In a sign that FEMA believes the immediate humanitarian emergency has subsided in Puerto Rico, aid will come to an end on Wednesday. http://n.pr/2BCATdi

Well said! I'm Puertorican and absolutely hate when the Democrats exploit our people. It one of many reasons why I'm no longer a Democrat. Mi gente abre tus ojos!!!

If we had a real president in office s(he) would probably address this serious problem. 1 million still without power.

Senator Nelson, if the federal obligations under the Stafford Act is so great in Puerto Rico; then Congress should pass emergency legislation to end the President's use of FEMA as a political chip and adjust the fiscal cost on the ground that goes with reality.

And when is a good time to stop aid? When all the power is back on? When all infrastructure is rebuilt? Maybe after the people of PR hold their leadership accoutable for their failures that caused this crisis? The support can't be sustained indefinitely.

Wow at the disdain for the people of PR. They are American citizens. The US has held PR in limbo for 120 years. We wont give them independence, we wont give them statehood. We own that. They are Americans who need help.

I agree we should support Puerto Rico. How much of the original power outage has been restored? Has 1/3 been out since the hurricane? Perhaps a reduction in accord with the progress made? Is there a more realistic measure than power to compare aid? Thank you for all you do.
