Senator Bill Nelson Retweeted Miami Herald

There is no reason to send 60,000 Haitians back to a country that cannot provide for them. This decision today by DHS is unconscionable. And I am strongly urging the administration to reconsider. Ultimately, we need a permanent legislative solution.https://twitter.com/MiamiHerald/status/932761316112195585 …

What is the freaking emergency that they’re doing this? Are they even giving a reason?

It was a 18 month program. They were supposed to go back after being here for 18 mos but Obama upped it each time it expired. Trump just signed the extention for another 18 mos but said he won't be extended again.

I'd be surprised if there is not a plan for how do deal with the issue but we'll have to wait for a statement from the WH.

Honestly, why is no one asking why the previous administration just "let it ride" for so many yrs? O did the same thing with DACA. No President should renew temp programs w/o looking for a permanent solution. smh

BECAUSE HAITI IS STILL A MESS and isn’t capable of absorbing 60,000 people back. Good grief. This isn’t hard.

You're missing the point. These people built lives & had children here. He should've proposed permanent residency if he was concerned that Haiti would never get back on its feet but he didn't.

No, I’m not. You are. Obama didn’t know there’d be two major hurricanes to hit after that huge earthquake. And yes, now these people have lives here. So really, just chuck them out?

Unfortunately ppl still believe Haitians come to the US for strictly economic reasons. The poor infrastructure due the hurricanes and earthquakes can barely support life. Many Haitians live in South Fl and contributes to the economy This is part of Trump's "Make US white again"
