Geez ... Senator Bennett didn't vote for the tax reform. Address your negative comments to @CoryGardner.

Let’s cut spending then. If you’re worried about the debt, you cannot avoid addressing entitlements. But, I’m gonna guess y’all don’t wanna talk about entitlement reform... So, do you really care about the debt? Or are you just using it to score partisan points & incr taxes?🤔

Indeed, lets cut the wars and military spending. I also think it would be good to talk about pausing social security payouts for 20 years, given that the Boomers spent all of it on wars and tax cuts.

We spend more on social security than military/defense; & national defense is paramount to our existence. & fair enough, we can talk about these seemingly endless wars. It’s simple: cut spending, cut taxes. The govt doesn’t need to be involved in all these areas—e.g. education

National defense isn't the majority of what our military spending goes to though. The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan had absolutely nothing to do with national defense.

Education is important for being a civilized society. As the results of the 2016 election show, an uneducated populace will bring down a country far faster than a war. DARPA exists specifically because the military recognizes being smarter than the enemy is important.

Education, BTW, is a tiny fraction of what our taxes are spent on overall.https://www.nationalpriorities.org/budget-basics/federal-budget-101/spending/ …

You should share this with your republican colleague and remind him of his conservative values. I thought the republicans ran on democrats spending too much and not keeping the deficits in balance.Oh wait that’s right republicans will justify anything as long as it works for them
