And since these cars won't be capable of reaching the reduced emission standards that will still exist in other more sensible and sane countries a large number of possible export markets will be unavailable to these vehicles

Do you know anything about the eternal combustion engine. 50 MPG is not possible, not even for a motorcycle. Especially, when gasoline and diesel are adulterated with ethanol, which decreases mileage and requires more petroleum to move the vehicle; thus creating more emmissions
