.@nytimes & @latimes report children will not immediately be reunited with their families based on @POTUS executive order. So what does that mean will happen to them? We need to know.pic.twitter.com/nYvIiBFBu8

Precipitous, highly-politicized policies like “zero tolerance” come at enormous human cost. A photo opportunity is not a resolution—mobilization of real resources & comprehensive plan to reunite all of these children is the only solution that meets the standard of American values

and somehow “Catch & Release”....when 40% of those ‘caught’ never show up for asylum hearing....is better? Go ahead Mike......write another letter
-
There are over 2,000 children who have separated from their families. We do not have any way to reunite them with their parents. Ponder that. Ponder the feeling of not knowing where your children are? Ponder the terror of a five year old who’s never going to see mom again
-
That sucks.....not sure of its veracity....of course parents who intentionally and likely knowingly put their kids in that position...irresponsible?Obama did same for 8 years....and you said ??? anything? Trump addressed short term today. Now Congress change the law
#LawAndOrder -
Imagine what things must be like for those parents to walk 1,000 miles with their children. What are they running from? Also, Obama didn’t separate children from their parents. That’s the result of an April 2018 policy change announced by Jeff Sessions.pic.twitter.com/DwsH856qbx

Go to a port of entry. Don’t cross illegally.
#LawAndOrder. Tough choice I understand but we have laws to be enforced....or change the law.... -
How often have you been pulled over for going 70 in a 65? We choose not to enforce laws all the time. The reason that this became a problem is that someone decided to a) go for 100% enforcement and b) separate kids from parents.
-
100% enforcement is likely an overstatement .....a consequence of which is (was) adults being separated from kids. Somehow “Catch & Release” when 40%+ never show up for legal proceedings is better? I think not.

https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/attorney-general-announces-zero-tolerance-policy-criminal-illegal-entry … Zero tolerance. Also, we had a program where 99% of asylum seekers attended their hearings. On June 7, the Federal Government announced it was closing it down. Today was its final day of operation.

Thank you, Senator! Please keep the pressure on - today's executive order is not a solution - only a little less terrible. We all need to keep fighting for just treatment of asylum seekers

This is not a pause. They're still detaining, they're just keeping the kids with families in detention now and trying to do it for longer. We need to fight, and if you won't, we'll remember that in 2022.
