The Trump administration’s “zero tolerance” policy is cruel and does not make our country more secure. Instead of spreading falsehoods, @POTUS can and should end his policy of separating children from their parents at the border.

The administration also should take action to fully enforce existing legal protections for unaccompanied minors and ensure they are able to reunite safely with their family members.

Thank you for drawing attention to this. I look forward to seeing the actions you take as Senator on doing away with this barbaric policy of taking children from their parents.

Certainly! We should give the people on death row back their children also. It is inhumane to separate them from their kids. All they did was break the law... Oh wait, never mind.

This is an uninformed comment. It is lawful to present oneself at the border seeking asylum and to have a judgement made on that claim. This policy separates such lawful but not yet documented parents from their children which has never been done before and is inhumane.

The laws being enforced were already on the books. If you choose to call me “uninformed “ you may want better sources than @cnn .many of the children removed are found to be being brought in by traffickers. ICE is making a huge difference. Go spend a day on the border.

I lived near the AZ border for four years and understand that the situation is not nearly as simplistic as your tweet.

I have worked on the border and agree. But it is not what is being portrayed. People are being manipulated as to what is really going on there.

If the right wing stopped lying about immigrants, their entire immigration policy would fall apart.

But it's the policy put in place by the Democratic party that he is following.

Check out the history of policies in place and its clear they were crafted over time by all parties it needs fixed. And its not being followed as written, you can check that on your own, its being bastardized to pander to a base.. Either way time for a change.

Thank you for your strong position. How can we effectuate change for those who were so grievously affected by recent border agents in recent weeks? @SenBennetCO @COHummingbirdpic.twitter.com/Nj9OmVV80c

Well, we effectuate change by locking down our borders. If they didn’t try to come in illegally, there would be nothing to change. Illegal immigrants have brought all this on themselves. Like when you get a speeding ticket or fired from a job, who’s fault is it??
