    The Honest Ads Act would put in place the same rules of the road for social media platforms that currently apply to political ads sold on TV, radio, and in print regarding disclaimers and disclosures so that Americans know who is behind the ads they see online.-AK

    ., this is so important. Election security is essential to preventing hostile foreign government (looking at you, Russia) from interfering with our democracy.

    Today, Sen. Klobuchar took to the Senate floor to call for action on election security legislation. She asked for unanimous consent that the Senate proceed to the immediate consideration of S.1540, the Election Security Act and Sen. Lankford objected.

    Sen Klobuchar's DO NOT Call Act creates a penalty for violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act including up to 1yr in prison. The bill wld also increase the max penalty for civil & criminal fines from $10k to $20k for faking Caller ID.
