A policy preventing Copyright owners from making $ on manual claims for:
Short song clips (ex: 5 sec of a song)
Unintentional audio (ex:
from passing cars)
Claimants can still block monetization or the video itself, but timestamps help you edit out the claim.
This is fantastic, and a great step for protecting creators from being pushed around by large companies abusing copyright, but why not in the case of automatic claims? Automatic claims are by far the most common, and typically claim short clips of music under 10 seconds.
