No, he just warned me about cooking with it instead of sunflower oil, inded IDGAF and kept cooking with it for the sake of my Testosterone.
He does sound mediocre. Did he give you ANY reasoning?https://twitter.com/DiAlejandroH/status/1045297701976453120 …

extra virgin olive oil isn't great to cook with indeed... but sunflower oil / other vegetable oils are some of the unhealthiest abominations in modern industrial culture. Extra virgin Olive is far better... though there are better choices than that https://balancedbites.com/PDFs/BalancedBites_FatsAndOils.pdf … <3

extra virgin is better used for cold uses, mild/light olive oil (not blended with veg oil) is better for high temperature. That said I'd be relatively happy to use EV olive oil for cooking anyway
-
basically, just stay as far away as you can from sunflower/vegetable oils and you're golden

<3 ... the vast majority of doctors know absolutely nothing about biochemistry or nutrition... they only know out-dated textbooks based on bad/corrupt science (in relation to food) -
PUFAs (poly unsaturated fats) are extremely prone to damage by light, heat and oxygen. Also the omega3:6 ratio in our diet throughout evolution was around 1:1 to 1:2... modern diets and these oils are 1:20, omega6 tends to be precursor to pro-inflammatory processes

Coconut oil or lard (bacon drippings) are my preference to cook with.
-
nice, yes coconut oil / ghee or beef dripping/lard are my go-to's too. I once filled up a deep fat fryer with beef dripping. Parsnips and sweet potatoes are incredible done that way

fried chicken in lard ftw. :) Salad covered with
@SeloOils EVOO emulsified w/vinegar, perhaps. :)
