I come from an Olive Oil producing country (Portugal) and been living in a non-olive oil producing country for a few years. I don't know how the quality is in America, but I'm willing to bet its the exact same thing. You have a chance to get a product that's of the same quality as the local people consume. You probably never tried anything like it. Check out

A large chunk of it is typical mass-produced stuff, but some regions (California comes to mind) do have some excellent local and true options. As always though, you kinda got to hunt to find it.
