The history of the blue dog Democrat coalition is fascinating. They grew to ~50 seats circa 2006 (big anti-Bush Dem midterm win). Dems as a whole would take a hammering in 2010, but blue dogs particularly suffered. They’re currently down to 18 members. No party for white men.

Just the one paragraph Wikipedia synopsis tells you all you need to know if you read between the lines. Response to Gingrich wave, it would show America the Dems hadn’t gone loony left. By 2010 (Obama, explicit anti-white politics), blue dog Dems became an endangered species.pic.twitter.com/CsIk7wjA9e

This is interesting. Again: reading between the lines. ACA narrowly passed 219-212 (it was “rammed through” like Kavanaugh tbh, but media didn’t bitch then) w/ 34 Dems voting against (disproportionately blue dogs). Blue dogs would be taken out by GOP from right & hard left Dems.pic.twitter.com/gnFSQdUkkp

In the wake of Obama & Dems turn to the far left (and of course anti-white) politics, there was no longer a place for the blue dog Dems. In redder districts, voters would elect GOP (some blue dogs did fall in line behind ACA after all). In blue districts, they weren’t left enough

This is also fascinating: believe it or not, Gillibrand is a former blue dog. She was appointed to fill Hillary’s NY Senate seat when Obama tapped Hill for SoS. So what did Gillibrand do? What any deebly conservative blue dog would do: got on the phone w/ the gay lobby of course.pic.twitter.com/rQCAKuekc0
