If they confirm him, at least they have a shot. And they aren’t losing the Senate in any case. Take the L in the House (potentially), and come back on Trump’s coat tails in 2020. If that’s how it goes, whatever. It’s manageable. And at least the Court is secure. These ppl.

If they confirm Kavanaugh, voting for the GOP makes sense. If they let the Left push them around and delay into oblivion, then they are a dead party and full acceleration is the only option.

Only logical explanation: they somehow believed if they gave the made up claims a "fair hearing", it would all go away. They looked at a less than ideal situation (confirm quick amid controversy) & somehow thought that extending this madness would result in *less* controversy
