Gonna jump out on a limb but I don’t expect to see a lot of progs in here doing the “conservatives see reality in black & white” or the “only a sith deals in absolutes” bits. The “it’s more complicated, life is full of nuance, you’re too dumb to see that” ppl are projecting.https://twitter.com/TeamPelosi/status/1044274212683345926 …

Yeah like when it comes to making excuses about ‘why I didn’t report’, it’s all “you could never understand the situation unless you lived it. And even if you lived it, everyone’s situation is different so you still can’t understand.” I’m so sick of hearing that mentality.

It seems to be a way to set it up so that no matter what they do, you aren’t allowed to criticize them for it because ‘everything is nuanced and you just don’t understand my situation’. It’s a teen mentality. It’s an excuse to make stupid decisions and take no responsibility.

Everything about the left is linguistic games so they always win no matter what. Even the hearing. “How dare you have men interview this woman, it’s intimidating” and then “how dare you get a woman question her. You don’t respect women enough to talk to her yourself?”

1/Mhmm Growing up I was quickly taught that whenever I tried to explain why I did something stupid, that was just what we called ‘an excuse’ and was not acceptable. I should know what I did wrong and I ought to be ashamed, apologize, and never do it again.
-
2/At the same time, I was taught that I could never fully understand others’ situations and should just listen to them and not judge them. What was called ‘an excuse’ when I did it was considered valid when others did it. Somehow the b/w mentality inflicted on me stuck more.

Basically “nuance for me but black and white for thee.”
