I’m more aware of it on the left but I’m sure it exists on the right too, but there is a big problem w/ word thinking. “Safety”, “hate”, “racist/racism”. “Diversity”, “marginalized”, “wrong side of history”. I could go on but you get the point. What do these even mean?

I realize all of this is on purpose: it’s the duplicitous little games they play. But even for the ones who aren’t doing it cynically (who knows how many know better vs those who don’t), it’s just a sign of lazy thinking. To not use clear language & simply say what you mean.

Oh I agree: I don’t play the define game myself. If I hear someone say “racism” unironically (as an example), I dismiss it out of hand. I don’t call ppl racist. I don’t argue about what it really is. I hear white noise essentially. It’s a non-term to me at this point.

This ties in to our language devolving into
. The specificity of diction in any regarded older text vs nowadays has always had me blown away. People forget that the labor of language is to give creedance to nuance - not just show off sheeeitThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
