Germany & A-H lost WWI in a 3v2 of the big five great powers. Was there any combo that could win a 3v2 (you can get as ahistorical as you want. This is merely for the sake of argument)

For my own part: Germany + France vs other 3 or Germany + Russia (maybe) could have won a 2v3.

Also considering Germany + Britain. Even that tho: would be hard for Germany to 3v1 the other continental powers & Britain actually get in there in a serious way to help Germany on land.

So Britain + anyone (except maybe Germany, and that is a stretch) is done vs other 3. Likewise A-H: no matter who their partner is, they lose a 2v3 (they even lost w/ Germany).

Russia: maybe Germany could get it done. Anyone else they’re screwed. (The most popular “what if” is Russia+France w/ Britain coming in for Germany. Generally agreed Germany & co win that 2v3). France: again, anyone but Germany & it’s def a defeat 2v3.

I think France+Germany would have best chance for success. Gives nowhere for Britain to deploy w/o going long way around, makes Germany fight one front (always east) w/ France re-enforcing them. Russia wouldn’t have a chance & A-H so shitty they could be knocked out easily enough

Second best: Germany+Russia: Germany still on two fronts but again w/ A-H. Even in the war we saw it took German re-enforcement for A-H to succeed in east. So yea: Germany has same struggle in France + this Austria front but Russian man power w/ Germany could force A-H out.

A-H would be shafted in this Germany+Russia scenario. Much more than Russia was in our history. And as we saw: w/ virtually no A-H help, Germany held off France & Britain in the West. Get A-H out and 1) Germany moves to west front alone, plus Russian men to re-enforce assault.
