History question: where were the Russians when Yugoslavia fell apart? The US, to their great shame, intervened against Serbia to save Muslims (9/11 was our thanks for the trouble btw). But was Russia too out of it at the time to tell the US to back off? Did they protest at all?

I actually get it: if we learned anything from WW1 it’s to not let some little thing in the Balkans spiral out of control. So I don’t necessarily blame the Russians if they chose to let US run table. But w/ shit boiling over in Germany, what will US do then? And today’s Russia?

What if Germany chimps out again? Will the US* bomb Germans to save Muslims again, this time in the heart of Europe? Will Russians back down again & let the US do as they please? Can’t see that happening this time. What if US drives Germany into Russia’s embrace (a US nightmare)

Replying to @SelimSeesYou
When AFD takes over within a decade or so they will be more sane with the Russians. IT isn't a US nightmare so much as a US ruling class nightmare. Russia should be a natural ally.

Good point. Distinction worth making. I was indeed referring to US elites & their designs being foiled.
