I realize the point is sort of moot because our psychology/morality has changed. So the question of will is settled. Just asking re: tech. Have we raced even further ahead than the utter dominance of then?

Assuming 3rd world includes China/India/Pakistan, then narrower (bc nukes), wider if excluding them. America/the West has broadly superior conventional forces today, but tech changes have made asymmetric warfare more viable.
-
Part of the issue is that while widely available tech (assault rifles, IEDs, drones, internet) levels the playing field, reasonably decent human capital is required. So it’s possible that 85 IQ average groups are at a greater disadvantage relative to 100 IQ groups today.
-
Another thing is that defense tech in general is increasingly favoring the defending the side defending against conventional forces, eg proliferation of anti-ship/AA missile systems vs increasingly expensive ships & aircraft

Provided I am understanding the question correctly, I think by definition of '3rd world' it has to be wider. The development of their infrastructure, technology, and even culture still remains closer to how it was in their 1914 than that of our own 1914.
