This statute stuff is getting bad I’m reminded of Japan/Korea/China & bad blood of WW2. Yea, Asians are different & their connection to history is allegedly different. Honor, face, etc But Japan visiting shrine to WW2 dead causes turmoil. Imagine China going in & demolishing it

I might get a lot of replies to this so I’m gonna try to get in front of it. They are separate countries. But America is starting now to look like at least two countries. And it was during time period those statues honor. And they’re tearing it down. What isn’t theres.

We’re often told essentially Japan is at fault. “Stop visiting the shrine, it always upsets ppl, it doesn’t let the wounds heal, Japan did x y z crimes”. Let’s assume it’s all true. Maybe Japan could help heal the region by stopping. But how do we heal?

Not like this. This is where the parallel breaks down. This isn’t even “your side is paying pilgrimage to the statue & irritating the other side.” Even if it were, tolerance is accepting that right. Both sides suffered. This is “we are destroying your statues, get fucked.”

It’s just one more thing in the “there can be no peace” program. There’ll be peace only after calamity (what it’s going to take to stop this) or simple unconditional surrender (you’re at peace after you’re exterminated, obv. Then nothing to worry about anymore). The options.

This is all part of why “The End of History” is so roundly mocked. And why there is the term “returning to history”. This is an aberration. This place & this time. The West thinks it has permanently transcended history. It hasn’t. No one ever can. It just took a vacation from it

9/11: that date was on purpose. We might not know the significance but they did. They know their history. The Holo: whatever you think of it, we’re still hearing about it. And maybe always will. Euros still talk shit about this war they lost, that territory that was theirs.

It all comes back. Even the forgotten stuff will be re-taught. Outside of total book burning/internet deletion/rewriting of it (believe me they’re trying to go this route), people will remember. Or can dig it up. The history. It still happens now. People who care enough to know.

We dig up naturalization act of 1790. Or the Lincoln quotes about what he thought about blacks. They’d like to just delete it all from the planet (and they are trying, believe me) but it endures. The history 1860s America endures. People will search it out, especially now/future

Trying to find something solid to cling to, some way to escape globohomo, some identity to adopt. People still do & always will see themselves as Southern. Or Catalonian. Or Scottish. Or Bavarian. This isn’t helping anything. With the statues. The tearing down will be taught.

Assuming we don’t completely lose & they literally do exterminate both the records & the ppl. But if that doesn’t come to pass it will be taught. And it will never heal. What they did will be remembered. Drilled into people’s heads. How vindictive it was. Why we hate them.

I don’t believe the Civil War was what we’ve been taught it was. Seems like a certain brotherhood wanted to ethnically cleanse the South and not of blkpipo. Lee, Sherman best of buds belonged to the same brotherhood huh? The #1 lynched people in America wes White Southerners!?
