As for California breaking up to swing future votes it cannot be a good thing without a few other breakups like Texas When electorates are made they go by division of the population ala Australia, this goes back to the fact that The USA is an enigma where policy works in others
-
Dissolving more & more states in an arms race to artificially grab senate seats. That sounds like a sound plan.
-
Not really but decentralised power is more preferred than a federalist wet dream, absolute power corrupts absolutely but you don't want tinpot despots running around, the USA clearly is divided and immigration is concentrated in pockets That's why congressional districts work
-
Multi-seat districts & the ever expanding senate will mean none of that is going to work or even matter if the Dems do this.
-
Having a way to curb gerrymandering is a good start, plus more members mean more votes and more districts means more seats. Effectively both sides can do this, not just the democrats.
-
This is a recipe for success. We’ll have one rep per 10 ppl w/ 70% of them being Dem reps through mass migration. Unless you can give me a plan for decentralization so vast the federal govt is abolished, this doesn’t sound like much of a plan to me. Assuming we want one country.

Impossible to predict the outcome without a precedent set, mind you something like this works in other countries when it comes to the USA there is so much that's overlooked There's also the issue with congressional gerrymandering 2 to each district can attempt a balance.
-
Brazil & South Africa & Ancient Rome & Yugoslavia. All of those look like promising examples of what America will be.
-
Yugoslavia and ancient Rome don't count as they no longer exist as countries Brazil and South Africa are two cases Brazil has been home to former Nazi party members and lived near Pinochet dictatorship in chile, South Africa is the apartheid regime Yugoslavia had a civil war
-
“Yugoslavia had a civil war” What do you think is going to happen here under that Dem plan? A mess of people divided by religious/linguistic/ethnic lines all living under one polity w/o one being hegemonically dominant enough to hold power. They’re going to spark a war.
-
And you think the republicans won't start a civil war if they implemented changes demanded by the alt right? It's foolish to assume that neither side won't screw up the USA with infighting between races, creeds, sexes and other ways to divide us.
-
Trying to stop the Dems from starting a civil war they might eventually win by sheer numbers is the same as Reps starting a civil war. Why are they resisting? Better to just let the Dems do it. Smoking take.
