Hey, @YTCreators @TeamYouTube will you create community strikes for people who comment on videos? Like if 5 creators block them, they get they get their IP account flagged for review and commenting privilege revoked? Creators get strikes for breaking rules, why not commenters?

The simple answer is going to be cost effectiveness. It does not reward them to punish their customers, but it DOES reward them to punish their creators (in this sense employees, hired freelancers). Moreover, the advertisers don’t care about the comments, only the content nature.

You're right. It's not right. Comments can be so toxic to their creators, especially the large ones that make the most money. It can't just be our problem. At some point YouTube needs to step up and do something before something bad happens. It's getting worse and worse...

Nobody said to choose to be a victim. These are facts. To appeal to advertisers, you have to make content they like or they’re not gonna pay you to advertise on it. Perhaps better classification of videos would help advertisers choose their demographic. But it’s just \1

Sheer numbers. YT is used all around the globe so coordinating a strike would be nearly impossible. YouTube themselves has to make better decisions on who it lets drive the boat. This is my main point. Sure, it was YT’s decision, but the advertisers are still driving this.
