It always blows my mind that Sega didn’t have their own presence in U.S. arcades until the mid ‘80s. Their early games were such widespread heavy-hitters it’s easy to forget they were distributed by other companies before that.

They did! First as Sega/Gremlin and then as Sega Electronics. They were really only out of the U.S. side if things for about a year before relaunching in 1985.
