With what time and money? If you’re to “learn a skill” that would make you employable for higher paying jobs, you have to either go to school (which costs a shit ton of money) or learn it on your own time (which is time you’re not working and therefore making no money).

And what if you’re disabled? Or have kids? And what if you DO have the skills necessary but jobs won’t even consider hiring you without a degree that you couldn’t afford, or experience that you couldn’t get because you couldn’t afford to take an internship that pays nothing?

It's TRUE its Canadian money, but it also comes with healthcare, good schools and access to post secondary, infrastructure, a real social safety net, and even a government backed pension. I'll take that Canadian money all day.

jobs are meant to make money. if you want to live off of it, work up to a manger position and use experience as leverage to gain higher paying positions

Do you have $15 an hour skills? Even without a college degree you can make yourself worth that much for more than taking orders or flipping burgers. Imagine that was the pay scale, businesses would have 2/3 the jobs they can offer now Bc they need to pay that for basic skills

Fast food is at least a $18/hour skill. Have you ever worked in a fast food kitchen? It’s fucking impossible.
