I take it you don’t understand a scientific process.

In science it’s importance to be flexible and draw conclusions based on the data before you. Which, pandemics and crazy presidents are both unpredictable, wouldn’t you say? Glad to have someone capable of self thought @DrFaucis1

Perhaps, if you try very hard, you can imagine changing one's official stance as information is acquired. You also may consider that the man was working with the handicap of Trump who was incompetent and pressured everyone to comply w/ his whims.

It was no masks at first because there was a shortage because of Trump’s ineptness. They were being reserved for frontline workers. When the science proved it was airborne we had an adequate mask supply. The recommendations from most experts was to wear masks at that time.

“No masks” February and March 2020. Consistently mask April 2020 thru June 2021.

Flipflopping was verboten in the days of John Kerry but nobody, and I mean nobody flipflopped harder than Donald Trump. Don't forget, he was lauding Xi when this was all starting to spin out of control. What did he know back then? Why hold Fauci to a higher standard than Trump?
